We were having dinner at the Detmolder Hof restaurant and that was a great decision. All our courses were delicious.

They were little pieces of art on our dishes. Quite a sight to see. We had Chardonnay and the red housewine Primitivo.

No complaints whatsoever. Personnel were relaxed and friendly. In short, a great way to end the day in the lovely little town of Detmold.

Great boutique hotel. We were going to Detmold for a birthday party, an unknown place for us and not exactly at the center of the universe.

This hotel might be a reason to go back to Detmold! Everything was great about this little gem! They have very few rooms, we stayed on the top floor.

Beautifully decorated, spacious and well equipped. A romantic four poster bed with excellent mattress and linens.

The bathroom was large with both a huge tub and just as big shower stall. The hot water was electronically regulated, very fancy.

And everything worked too. Someone cooked our dinners with heart and love! Homemade pasta with pesto that was devine and an equally good Wiener schnitzel.

The breakfast room was also really nice, and so was the buffet. The service throughout the hotel was impeccable and lovely.

It was possible to book the extra night. When we arrived at the hotel there was no one at the reception desk. In the restaurant there were 2 people making preparations for a special occasion.

After a few minutes we asked them if it would be possible to check in. After asking to look for her, one of them finally started looking for the receptionist.

When she arrived she told us the price for the rooms of the extra night, was more expensive as the night we booked AND as shown on the site.

So we asked for that price. The rooms were nice. Next morning we had breakfast at 9. It was a rather simple breakfast and the buffet was half empty with respect to bread just 1 croissant, 2 rolls and cheese 2 slices of were left.

Not too much for 4 persons. So we asked for more, which wish was fulfilled! Eggs could be ordered as well as juices not fresh.

The breakfast at the second morning of our stay was also incomplete. The second day of our stay we went back to the hotel at 1 p.

Since we had left our keys at reception desk we had to ask for the keys. But again there was no one at the reception desk.

We found a bell and used it; no one came, we used it twice more in the adjacent Brasserie were several staff members ; no one came.

So we ended up constantly ringing the bell and finally some one came to hand our keys. The second evening- a Saturday- we came back to the hotel at Although there were still guests in the Brasserie the waitress told us that it was not possible.
