Horrible, horrible adaptation. One person found this helpful. Being somewhat of a Holmes traditionalist, this was a horrid "Holmes" story.
I did keep wondering, however, whether Conan Doyle would have appreciated the si-fi twist, as he personally preferred that genre over his own Holmes creation.
A bit bizarre, no believability whatsoever, nothing really about it made it a Sherlock Holmes story. Without that, it was still mediocre for what it was.
Sherlock Holmes and dinosaurs? Sure, why not. They have done just about every other kind of mashup with various literary characters.
But this movie just goes off the deep end rather quickly and never recovers. I was hoping it would show some kind of respect for the original stories but it doesn't.
I would say only watch it if your are ready to yell at the TV about everything that is wrong with this story.
On the plus side I kind of liked Watson and the production quality wasn't terrible but I felt Holmes and every other character was unbelievable and ridiculous.
It's the Asylum so your only real choices are bad and very bad. It doesn't make any sense but there are dinosaurs. If you are a Sherlock Holmes purist, then If you are just a fan, well, ok so Sherlock is short.
If you are bad Sci FI movie fan, then you are in for a treat. So, this movie does have some value, as a bad Sci Fi movie that is watchable.
There are some enjoyable moments that will make you laugh, but beyond that, do not expect much. Also watch it now because it is not bad enough to be kept around as an example, but not good enough to warrant nostalgia next decade.
