By creating an account, you verify that you are at least 13 years of age, and have read and agree to the Comicbook. Dragon Ball Super 's Tournament of Power has reached its final six minutes in the English dub run of the series on Toonami, and it's down to the final four fighters of the seventh universe of Goku, Vegeta, Freeza, and Android 17 against the final two of the eleventh universe, Jiren and Top.

At first it seemed like Jiren would be the primary threat to their safety, but it was clear after Dyspo put up such a strong fight that Top will not be a pushover.

This was demonstrated in full with the latest episode of the series as Top, pushed to the brink, unlocked a surprising new divine transformation.

Man, I thought Top was going to be a regular fight for Frieza and 17 but now he's on the level of a destroyer? Now not only is Jiren an impossible mountain we have Top too.

I am so excited to see how they finally defeat them or if they even do! Ah ok, I thought his training was close to completion considering he was summoning destruction energy and that haikai hakai?

I mean, Goku was able to perform a Hakai against Merged Zamasu in the manga, so I don't think Top would have to be a full-strength Destroyer to use destruction energy.

Also, having watched the entire sub of DBS, I know how he stacks up against other characters. Oh really? I've never read the manga.

What is Hakai then? Is it something Whis taught him in the Manga? No, Goku apparently just figured out how to imitate it on his own. I guess from all his time learning to use and sense God ki, plus being around Beerus, he was able to manage it.

Frieza earns my vote for "dumbest move in the entire franchise", for provoking Top and only helping him become ridiculously powerful.

All you have to do to win is just not do what you just did. Your final transformation on Namek was an unimpressive form visually yet had immense power.

And it doesn't occur to you to think other people have incredible transformations?? I think it's also interesting to note the other similarities within the call back to Frieza's Spirit Bomb trauma: a both were huge spherical attacks b in both instances he displays unwavering denial, downplaying both attacks even though he's clearly losing the struggle, c He's consumed by both attacks in much the same way - falling into the background in a near identical pose.

I never thought 17 would last this long. With Cabba in 7th. After Krillin went out I assumed 17 and 18 would fall together since they're inexhaustible.

I wish Hit was one of the longer lasting fighters. But, then he lost in his 3rd-ish battle after half an episode.

Before Jiren was revealed to be stronger than Belmod, I was hoping Hit would be the one fighter that would give Jiren a hard time before Goku gets a new transformation even if he still loss.

Damn there's really just 6 episodes left. I know that's 6 weeks but still feels super short. I thought Top was going to pop Frieza's head like a zit and then get disqualified haha.

Fun episode, didn't see this coming at all. Top: You see Frieza, I'm not your average pride trooper anymore. I've ascended to a level beyond Frieza: Oh godammit!

I don't recommend dub-only viewers reveal these hints. Nothing is spoiled directly because it's just hints but there's no reason for this teasing. Let your questions and suspense be just as it was for sub watchers a year or so ago.

It's good now. Just said that because it would be possible for people to put together what might happen from your hint, not a big deal because you did use spoiler tags.

Anyone else not like the script for Toppo before he transformed. In the sub he said "Worthless. If justice can't save my universe, then it's worthless.

I've made up my mind. In the English dub, it's like he just throws it away like it was nothing. I won't be fighting for justice any longer.

Ooo, I do prefer that line over what we got. Being a Destroyer means to give up and oppose everything he stands for, so to have him simply state that he won't be fighting for justice any more didn't sit well with me.

Hearing the sub gives a clearer - more understandable - reason for why he chose such a path. Though I still think the fact that he even considered the position is bemusing; it just sounds like it's something he would outright dismiss.

I liked it. Frieza is so villainous and toxic that he made the defender of justice throw it all away in order to battle without honor or humanity.

I did like the line in the sub but I got the same vibe eventually when he was talking about not following the binary code of justice or evil anymore, only being or not being symbolizing the necessity to make this transition to a destroyer.

I feel that THIS was when the endgame truly began. Toppo not calling him Top goes God of Destruction, making things much worse for Universe 7, and Frieza finally loses his cool and gets his comeuppance.

Also, Toppo causing the sky to turn purple set the final stage of the endgame. Then there's the fact that Gohan ultimately figured the least in the endgame in that he goes out against Dyspo, thus lacking an awe-inspiring moment, never living up to his potential, nor did his leadership get any pay off.

All of this is what continues to disappoint me about Gohan getting shafted once again but then again, what would he had done against G. Toppo as he struggled greatly against him before he went G.

Lastly, rewatching the episode gave me a big reason why I want Toppo to be added in Xenoverse 2 both base and G. It would be a crime if that won't be the case.

LOL, even taking for granted the conceit that these battles are being significantly slowed down for the benefit of the viewer it's getting really silly that these episodes are supposed to be a minute a piece.

Are we supposed to think the dialogue is being slowed down too? And earlier on you could handwave it easily enough with "well they're spending episodes jumping around between various battles that are actually happening simultaneously" I know I gave this exact handwave justification for just ignoring the weirdness of it but that obviously doesn't hold at this point.

I'm not saying this to say it decreases my enjoyment of the ToP arc or anything--it's definitely not anywhere near the top of the silliest things in Dragon Ball--but it's hard not to have a chuckle about it.

It's just so much more fun and interesting than some of the slugfests we've gotten in the past--even a fight like fused Zamasu vs Vegito just feels like a fast-paced slugfest in comparison.

If he keeps bulking up like that, Top's going to become a perfect rectangle of muscle on legs soon enough. Y'know, I've always wondered what that purple dome-looking bit on Freeza's head feels like.

I guess if it cracks open in Top's fist, we'll know. Really good episode, it was about time they gave Top some love.

I knew the guy had to be packing more than what we'd seen so far. Frieza's appearance after taking that big blast was nostalgic, shot for shot remake of him showing up after surviving the spirit bomb on Namek.

Even when he threw his planet wrecking ball, it reminded me of when he attempted to destroy Namek after SSJ Goku pummeled him.

Pretty cool. As for 17, I like the guy, and he fights smart, but I feel like there comes a point where you just face someone with so much sheer power that it shouldn't matter much.

That said, I think it's about time for him to be chucked out of the ring. You'll be waiting a while as he's the only one who doesn't. This whole episode I couldn't help but think, what if those poachers that 17 used to deal with on a regular basis saw what 17 is dealing with now:.

Gohan speeding at the Namekian and straight punching him into the ground was a beautifully savage melee attack.

Did anyone else get the feeling of "Frieza is being a colossal dick right now, but at least he's our dick"?

Think of how many ring outs we could have had even sooner if Frieza played dirty like that instead of stand around for half an hour.

Lot of things would have changed if eveyone fought smart. Magenta should have depleated the ring of oxygen from the very start with their entire team playing defense for him.

Only Freiza and Frost wouldnt ne effected. Unless Jiren is stronger than Imagine if all of u7 just stood in the middle at the start and went full power combined beams like they did against universe 3 fusion, and spun around.

Wipe over half the board easily from the very beginning. We've been through a lot with Freeza so despite him being a total piece of garbage, we gatta root for our boy when it counts the most!

Says a lot about his durability. Would another species with his same power level on namek have been able to get up from the spirit bomb?

I could be wrong but I believe the official explanation is that King Cold and Frieza are insanely powerful mutants of an already powerful species.

It's like all the lost time stored up from the Namek, Buu, and this saga just got released all at once in the Broly movie. Yeah, Frieza is definitely durable, and dealing with Destroyer Top is obviously way past just being durable.

Good episode. You could tell Frieza was going to get his shit pushed in because arrogance and cockiness had gone through the roof in recent episodes.

However I have to ask, how is Top able to able to use Hakai? I thought there could ever only ever one Hakai wielder at at a time due the life link they have with their Supreme Kai.

The Supreme Kai and the Destroyer are linked in terms of life, one gets killed and the other one dies. It had nothing to do with wielding Hakai.

So there's a high barrier to entry. Toppo has been training to become a G. D for a while now, and so it's only logical that he'd be able to perform it.

His relationship with 18 is pretty sweet, too. Really steals the scenes with his personality. When 17 said "no, but just you wait", it didn't really have as much impact as the original's "no, but it's according to plan".

Vegeta saying "don't order me around" was fine but they should have had him say it the same way he said it the first time.

The delivery in some of 17's lines were a bit awkward. I think they're rushing through some of these episodes.

Didn't someone say they're only like a few episodes ahead of when things air in an interview? Yeah to be honest I didn't really understand the sequence of "I was thinking the same thing" "what!?

Because whoever decided on spellings for Toei's simulcast titles was dumb. Funimation tried to use Vermoud bless Steven J.

Simmons but Toei made them change it to Belmod. He was credited as Vermoud in his first dub episode. I fucking love Friezas dialogue in this episode.

He just keeps talking shit and i absolutely love it. I can kinda see why. He thinks they've won, there's two enemy fighters left versus their four fighters.

And there's like what, five minutes left? After that Hakai, I'm sitting there like, "umm At the time, I was thinking, oh damn. Dont tell me Zenos just ass-pulled a last minute new "Rule of Cool" rule.

If you can make your killshot look badass then you don't get eliminated. Even if he did I'm sure it would have been perfectly okay because the rules have been nothing but a joke.

There have been so many rules broken and they have all been hand waved away with "nah it look cool so its fine". Only Frost was destroyed becasue he tried to attack after he was eliminated.

Exactly what I was thinking. I thought Hakai was a killing move like the way Beerus used it against Zamasu.

I was surprised none of the GoDs stood up and said "what the fuck, you just can't just Hakai someone like that".

I have to commend the writing. I was not a fan of Top ever since he was introduced but he has definitely grown on me. Specially seeing the warrior of Justice now taking on the "Evil Villains" of Universe 7 I know 17 was never technically an evil Villain in this timeline, but he was still an antagonist in his arc.

This episode was incredible.

Is It Coming'! Auf zu Meister Zuno! Sein Name ist Champa! Crusher Bergamo vs. Pan is Born! Son Gohan's Fight!! The Schwesterherzen Ramonas Wilde Welt with Universe The Power of Love Explodes'!

But with only half the time left and opportunistic fights cropping up across the arena, Cabba is on his last leg. The original message got completely lost.

Thank Supreme Kais, Someone finally noticed! I've been saying this about kai dub but i just got downvoted and told that Kai is simply "superior" in every way.

One of the reasons why i prefer Z dub is because its choice of words is just better sounding, for ex: SSj3 Goku's iconic "This is to go even further beyond" or Majin Vegeta's every line of dialogue in Z.

Its simply way more menacing when he said "Not unless you want more bodies to pile up on your conscious" compared to Kai's "Not unless you want me upping the body count to more".

At the same time, the OG English dub had lines like "Pop goes the weasel", "Yeeeee haaaaaw ride em cowboy! Kai can be too verbose at times I agree but it's an infinite improvement over the original English dub.

You say that as if its a bad thing, Freeza mocking Krillin's death is true to Freeza's character. I love Z's cheesy dialogue, Vegeta's shit talking in the Z dub is partly why i became a Vegeta fan in the first place.

If i wanted a more serious accurate translation, i'd watch the sub. If i wanted an entertaining English dub i'd watch Z.

Well, damn! That was something, huh? So, Top is now a Destroyer! For Universe 7, this is comparable to the time when - in the Pokemon League - Ash found himself battling that one trainer who had a team of Legendary Pokemon; it just isn't fair, lol.

Or is it because he never entered having accepted the position means that it's not considered one.

Maybe it'll be touched upon next episode. Real quick, before we get into the juice, when Beerus referred to Gohan as 'Son of Goku' I was like 'what!

Don't be tryna backtrack Beerus, my man earned your respect. After getting over the shock of Top achieving Destroyer level power I was overcome with confusion regarding Frieza's misplaced confidence.

Like, did that one experience with Destroyer energy give him that big of a complex? He wasn't even a little bit concerned.

I guess feeling is believing I guess, and he definitely felt the force of that Hakai - the impact of which devastated the ring and changed the state of the Null Realm the void looks prettier now.

Kudos to Frieza for still being able to fight after taking it head on, though - I thought Goku or Vegeta would intervene to help 17 so was shocked to see the tyrant on his feet.

Maybe if Top didn't have that Hakai armour a shield that deletes anything that comes into contact with it is pretty crazy I would be a bit more optimistic.

Also, I really wanted Beerus to effortlessly stop the Hakai that was soaring towards the bleachers. When Frieza reappeared on that raised platform, with the one eye barely open, it was clearly an homage to Namek and the Spirit Bomb - both times he endured a huge spherical attack.

Was pretty insane when Top stopped his planet busting assault with the flick of a marble sized Hakai, and the assault after was both brutal and satisfying.

Dyspo did some work against Frieza in the last episode but Top was now clapping him haaard - I'm surprised we never got more reaction shots from Goku and especially Vegeta.

The animation during that scene was also phenomenal, and just elevated the whole sequence to even greater heights.

Regarding Top being groomed for the position of Destroyer, I would have thought such a role contradicts his philosophy.

He's all about justice, protecting the innocent, stopping evil Also, I wonder if those symbols mean anything and if all Destroyers have them somewhere on their body.

After this episode I'm now imagining what seasoned Destroyers can do. The application of Hakai as a barrier was really cool it's so pretty the way their attacks turn to dust and glimmer out of existence , and has me wondering what other techniques they have hidden up their sleeves.

I'm also anticipating how Top will be overcome. He's chosen destruction now because he feels he'll lose otherwise.

Allowing his universe to be possibly destroyed due to his moral qualms is unjust. As far as why he took the training? Unless I'm mistaken, Whis told Vegeta that if he was to train him, the day may come when he would have to take God of Destruction training.

I feel a similar thing happened to Top. After taking a look at the sub version, that was made much clearer. It didn't come across as well in the dub, imo.

I can understand why he made the choice that he did given the circumstances. Vegeta was asked to agree to become a Destroyer if Whis trained him, and you could see Vegeta wrestling with that decision in his head.

However, he didn't agree, but instead made a counter offer by promising Whis the best food Earth can provide him - turned out to be ramen.

I can imagine Top would also wrestle with that choice but it seemed he agreed, even though presumably there was no real reason that he needed to at the time.

Perhaps he was just thinking long term, and he wanted to ensure he could protect his universe even if it meant sacrificing who he is.

Judging by what Jiren says it seems Top had a choice, regardless of the fact he began his training - or maybe it was a matter of 'when' rather than 'if'.

After Krillin went out I assumed 17 and 18 Traumfrauen 2 fall together since they're inexhaustible. Champa really wants delicious Earth food, Swr Online what better way to convince Beerus to let him visit than with a friendly game of baseball? Pretty cool. Disappointed in his current combat ability, Krillin decides that he's in dire need of Kinderstars. The true battle begins!
