I love that they use motion capture and real dancers to get the dance sequences animated correctly with natural motion.
I also love that they use sequences and storylines from classic ballets - what a lovely introduction for the little aspiring ballerina! The overall message in the movie is that it's not necessary to be perfect - just dance from the heart.

Loved the story, they certainly crammed a lot in! But basically it's a journey back in time to a dreamlike magical realm where the strict ballet teacher morphs into the Snow Queen.
I think some ballet knowledge would probably help before you watch this. On the whole very pleased with it, already looking forward to seeing it again.
Bought as a gift, but ended up watching it with the recipient. It was actually a good little film and the concept behind the story, where Barbie and her friend end up in a real ballet world is based on some real classic story telling principles.
