These weren't subplots, but completely different stories. To cover all bases, we repeatedly hear that "things aren't what they seem.
But if so, I don't think it's a game that plays fair by the viewer. The ending is especially ambiguous. Is it because the story is inherently open-ended?
Or is it because there simply wasn't a way to wrap up all these loose ends? You be the judge. This movie made no sense. Very confusing and seemed like it skipped around a lot.
It seemed like it was cryptic just for the sake of being cryptic. Kristen Stewart looked like she needed to wash her hair the whole time.
How was she even a personal shopper when she seemed like she hated shopping? A lot of topless shots for no reason.
It left me with no closure at the end. I watched the whole thing, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Holy crap. This isn't an ordinary ghost story by any means, and there is a ton going on here.
Ideas about identity, self, hope, love, technology, connection, and of course death. But was this movie scary? I thought it was terrifying on so many levels.
And I loved it. I'm buying the DVD. Kristen Stewart is amazing in it, btw. Overacting would have wrecked this story.
If you don't like movies that move somewhat slowly that you have to really watch, maybe just go for the next movie about that doll Annabelle. But if you think about stuff and pay attention?

Trying to make contact with him she spends nights in his deserted house. The problem is that the house isn't particularly spooky and I'm easily spooked!
Eventually something does happen, but it's about as disturbing as a ride on a fairground ghost train. A big part of the problem is that the film never seems to make up its mind where it stands in relation to the paranormal strand of the story.
I don't know what that means. For me, he was someone deeply intuitive of others. He, uh He did. Maybe because he knew he was going to die. I mean, I felt that he saw things which I didn't.
